Industrial Facility Relocation & Re-Engineering

Dismantling and relocating industrial facilities requires more than demolition planning. Existing components must be documented, evaluated, re-engineered, and prepared for reconstruction under the requirements of the destination project. DAG provided multi-discipline engineering and project support for a complex industrial relocation and re-engineering programme.

Case Study 04

Multi-discipline engineering for dismantling, relocation, and reconstruction

DAG Service Multi-Discipline Engineering & Project Support
Duration 2008

The Challenge

The project required coordinated engineering across piping, civil/structural, instrumentation, mechanical, construction management, logistics, HSSE, and quality. Existing facility components had to be documented and assessed while new engineering information was prepared for relocation and reconstruction in accordance with destination-project requirements.

DAG’s Solution

DAG provided multi-discipline engineering and project support covering the technical information required for dismantling, relocation, and re-engineering. The work combined detailed design deliverables, equipment and vendor evaluation, material documentation, and site/project-management support.

Scope of Engineering Support

  • Detailed piping plans and isometrics.
  • Civil/structural foundations for equipment, structures, buildings, and modules.
  • Pipe racks, equipment-support structures, and modules.
  • Underground drainage-network and pavement design.
  • Match-marked drawings and technical documentation.
  • Instrumentation index, instrument sizing, specifications, and datasheets.
  • Technical data gathering, analysis, and written reporting.
  • Requisitions, vendor technical specifications, bid evaluation, material take-off, bill of materials, and vendor-data review.
  • Mechanical specifications and evaluation of existing equipment.
  • Construction management, logistics, site HSSE and QA, and subcontractor management.

Result / Value Delivered

The engagement showcases DAG’s capability to support a complex industrial relocation through coordinated engineering and project services. By bringing multiple disciplines into one project structure, DAG supported the documentation, evaluation, redesign, and site-management activities required for dismantling, relocation, and reconstruction.
